Crafted Around the Art.

Every artwork carries a story.

A frame should do more than surround it—it should complete it.

GHW·ARTS is a bespoke art framing atelier dedicated to preserving the traditions of European frame making through handcrafted craftsmanship. Every frame is designed from the beginning, responding not only to the artwork itself, but also to the collector, the architecture, and the space in which it will live.

Rather than working from standard mouldings, we create each frame as a unique commission. Proportion, profile, surface, colour and finish are carefully considered to build a harmonious dialogue between the artwork and its environment.

Our work is rooted in two of Europe's most respected decorative traditions: the timeless character of Italian Patina and the brilliance of German water gilding using genuine 23-karat gold leaf. These centuries-old techniques require patience, precision and the hands of experienced artisans, transforming each frame into an object of craftsmanship in its own right.

For collectors, galleries, museums and exceptional interiors, we believe a frame should never be an afterthought. It is the final expression of the artwork.

Meet the Founder

Linda Guan Hongwen

For more than three decades, Linda has devoted her life to the art of handcrafted frame making.

Her journey began in 1991 under the guidance of German master craftsman Thomas, where she learned the traditional techniques of German water gilding using genuine gold leaf. It was here that she developed a deep respect for craftsmanship—where patience, precision and generations of knowledge mattered more than speed.

Years later, Linda was invited to collaborate with a traditional Italian framing family. During this period, she continued her studies under a museum conservator in Florence, learning the centuries-old Italian Patina finishing techniques used in the restoration of historic decorative objects. Together, these two traditions would become the foundation of her life's work.

Throughout her career, Linda has led the production of handcrafted frames for luxury hotels, museums, galleries and private collections across Europe and North America. She has also worked alongside internationally respected companies, including Larson-Juhl and Michaels, bringing European craftsmanship to projects of exceptional scale and quality.

In 2020, after decades of experience, Linda founded GHW·ARTS with a simple belief:

A frame should be crafted with the same respect as the artwork it protects.

Today, every frame created by GHW·ARTS continues that tradition—combining authentic European craftsmanship with bespoke design for collectors, galleries and extraordinary spaces.
